Download PDFSteves latest accomplishment was recording an original song named Shadowed by Darkness, in which he also hired a videographer / director to make a professional video to go with the single. This has received many positive comments, received high acclaim in the Metal community for its intricate guitar work / dark imagery and can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iDM77xe5Hs
Steve Terreberry was born in 1987, picked up the guitar at the age of 16 and has never looked back!
He started taking guitar lessons at this time and wanted to further his own artistry and technique. So he studied the guitar gods he looked up to and with a combination of riffs / hooks and scale patterns learned from these virtuosos, Terreberry developed his own style. He is what you would call a self-taught musician.
Steve put together his first band Closed for the Season in 2005 and learned a lot from the bands many gigs, and volunteering their time for local shows. Relay for Life was one of those events and was an emotional time, as cancer survivors from the Niagara Region came out that day for the cause. The Fort Erie Friendship Festival and Stevensville Springfest were some other yearly shows the band played. The group also put on a rock concert benefit show for the local public school and sold T-shirts and cds with all proceeds going to World Vision Canada.
Terreberry then made a YouTube video playing a traditional rendition of Saints Go Marching from his bedroom, with a video camera sitting on a chair playing. The amateur video he made was received seriously and got Steve over 22,000 plays.
It was at this time that Steve and new band Calibur Code went to Sorge Studios and met Carmen Sorge (owner and engineer.) Together they all worked hard at practicing the material for the recording process to lay down their first cd. The band had much to learn and Steve and Carmen developed a great working relationship as Steve took in Carmens skills, knowledge and 20+ years experience.
Steve then was asked by Carmen to be involved in a new project he was recording and Steve went to the studio and helped out Once a Hero with their guitar work. Steve ended up laying down all rhythm, acoustic and lead tracks for the project and through this Terreberry was asked by Sorge to become a studio guitarist for the studio, as Sorge was thoroughly impressed with Steves attentive ear and natural ability to create and record riffs instantly and professionally.
Steve really wanted to continue the recording process and wanted to work on some solo material and with the help of Carmen, Steve recorded 2 songs, The Launch (Afterburn) and the second and more recent song Bravura. The songs and video can be viewed at www.youtube.com/SteveTerreberry
Through the studio Terreberry has become friends with The Autumn Crush band (previously Trial & Temptation) and been asked to fill in for their shows, to add to the other guitarist. Together they won best rock group of the year for the 2011 Niagara Music Awards and appeared on 91.7 GiantFM morning show with Mike Bragg and President Pat St. John.
Presently, Terreberry spends a great deal of time as a studio guitarist for Sorge Sound Studios where he is working on a wide variety of genre recording, such as an Elvis project, an original Gospel cd project, and other projects for local bands and soloists. Carmen Sorge quotes Steve is truly a gifted, accomplished guitarist who pays special attention to detail and learning to achieve the utmost talent he can!
