Phoenix Song

Bio

PHOENIX SONG is the mystic and cinematic vision of Director Kate Marzullo. Raised in Jupiter, Florida, Kate's always wanted to make movies, but more importantly, she has made it her quest to use movies to raise human consciousness.

She attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where she received her first B.A. in Theatre Arts. During her senior year at Rollins, she had the distinction of not only directing a full-length play (Paula Vogel's How I Learned to Drive) but also had an original play she wrote (...and the camel checked in.) produced by the Theatre Department.Graduating with Honors, Kate returned to South Florida and worked a crappy 9-5 job for a few years before she realized it was time to make the obligatory trek to Tinseltown.

In L.A., Kate enrolled in Columbia College Hollywood film school and earned her second B.A. in Cinema-Television with an emphasis in Directing. Her stint at CCH proved fruitful, as Kate churned out a number of original projects, including her highly ambitious thesis film, "Minette", based on the life of the 17th century Duchesse d'Orleans. Kate's signature is her love of period piece work, which shines through in "Phoenix Song", seamlessly melding past and present realities to create dynamic time/space super-reality.

Kate's production company, Pandering to Karma Productions, strives to encourage a deeper perspective on the world around us. Kate says of her work with Pandering to Karma Productions, "Not everyone will get it, but the right people will."
