The Mess

Bio

The Mess self-released it's first EP "Messin' Around" in February 2012. It was recorded at Electric Plant Studios in Brooklyn, NY. 'Dead Man' was written and recorded in April 2012 and then added to the already digitally released EP. The remaining six songs were a long time coming, some written over a decade prior, when two of the members were still in high school together. The Mess has followed up the release with shows around the New York and New Jersey area and is presently writing new songs to add to their already lengthly catalog.

A modern rock and roll trio some might call "garage rock", influenced heavily by the blues and rock and roll of yesteryear (they even have a song called "Roky", written about Roky Erickson of the 13th Floor Elevators), The Mess has made a name for themselves by being known for their solid live shows, large sound, and unique merging of the well crafted song with the spontaneity of a bluesy jam with mesmerizing guitar solos. The two leading members, who have known each other since childhood and have played in various bands together throughout the years, found the drummer 4 years ago through a Craigslist ad response she later found in her junk mailbox and replied to on a whim.

Over the past few years, the three members have solidified themselves as a group and established a repertoire between themselves that is comforting in today's day and age. In essence, The Mess is three friends who love to play good old rock and roll and that comes through to the audience with every live performance. The members span two states and three different cities. They cherish the time they do have to play together and tend to write new songs in lieu of rehearsals. This lends well to the energy of their live shows, with songs never feeling old to either them or the audience.

The Mess is currently looking to grow their current audience across the USA and beyond, in time for a spring and summer tour.
