WAYNE HANKIN, best known for his work with CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, is a period instrument specialist who has performed for film (THE LEGO MOVIE) and television (BREAKING BAD). Whether performing in front of the camera or in the recording booth, Wayne can be heard playing over 400 medieval, renaissance and baroque bagpipes, hornpipes, flutes, whistles, gemshorns, trumps, bone flutes, single/double reeds and others over his 30 year career, Wayne has performed over 4000 concerts worldwide and along with 7 productions for CIRQUE, he has also music directed leading theater companies (LONG WHARF THEATER, ALLEY THEATER, BAM, ODEON PARIS, AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATER, SCHAUBUHNE BERLIN. Recorded work includes major labels ECM, RCA, BMG and SONY, appearances on television networks CBS, ABC, NBC, HBO and BRAVO and his conducting debut at the Houston Grand Opera.  He has also consulted and performed on and off screen on major Hollywood films ranging from DISNEY'S PRINCESS ADVENTURES to RESIDENT EVIL II. With over 300 works composed for period instruments, Wayne has received numerous awards and commissions from ASCAP Awards to The National Endowment of the Arts. His first lead in the film 7 SOLOS earned him the award for best short subject at The World Music and Independent Film Festival in Washington DC.
