Heather Schultz

Bio

Christmas, 1983, three-year-old Heather Schultz receives the gift of a lifetime, Mr. Microphone. Ever since then she's never put it down. Heather has always loved singing and dancing since then. She was highly involved in both community and school musicals and dance lessons throughout childhood and high school, including choir and show choir. After being a musical theater major at Columbia College in Chicago she dived into a commercial pop singing career. To kick start it she made a demo of cover songs in 2000 and started displaying her abilities and talents at Chicago radio station, B96 on the morning show with Eddie and Jobo. After creating the concept for her record label in 2001, Volcanic Records, she began work on her first CD sampler EP of her own originally written songs. She was blessed with many oppurtunties at that time at B96 and seeing life on the road, having nice musical "big brothers" sort of speak in 98 Degrees. Heather's musical influences are in the whole ray of the pop genre. Several of which being 98 Degrees, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Janet Jackson, but her biggest influence comes from a place more personally within. She also thanks not only her musical influences but also friends, family, and real life. That gives her the material and strength for such a cutthroat business. And in saving the best for last she gives credit to influence and mostly gives thanks to Jesus Christ. After much hard work on her first CD sampler in 2003 she released her first single, "Cloud 9" to the top 40 radio stations around the nation. In promotion of her self titled CD she traveled around the midwest and the Chicago area at various clubs and festival venues in 2004 including high school tours, Borders Books & Music tours, and the IL State Fair. 2004 was also a landmarking year for her record label, Volcanic Records was officially incorporated that year. In 2006 Heather relocated herself and Volcanic Records from her hometown, the windy city, to sunny southern California in the Los Angeles area. Additionally she began work on a new album, her first full length album. After a long adventurous and dramatic move across country Heather is now starting to finish what she started in recording the rest of her upcoming album in 2007. In her upcoming album she's very excited to continue working with other talented business friendships. She also will be venturing into new territory learning how to not only write and sing her own music, but also produce it as well. She's very excited to begin the home recording studio journey! In 2008 she made her debut performance in Los Angeles at The Palmer Room. She continues to perform regularly with the Musician's Small Group at Angelus Temple/The Los Angeles Dream Center and is also involved with the young Entertainment small group as well. 2009 started with the release of her first music video, Backstabber. It was premiered on SoCalNow which broadcasts on MTV trs and KCAL 9 in Los Angeles. In addition to that she enjoyed promoting her music video with an interview on SoCalNow. But Backstabber can not only be found in Los Angeles, but world wide. You can watch Backstabber through all sorts of internet platforms such as Myspace, YouTube, etc. Currently she's enrolled in UCLA's music business certificate program. She is still studying voice and training hard in dance as well as songwriting at any chance she gets. She's been taking some dance classes at LA renown Millennium Dance Complex. The more she can do and the more educated she is on a variety of levels in the music industry, the more well rounded of an artist she believes she can be. She's thrilled and excited and looks forward to what she believes what will be the best she's put forth yet as she goes through the creative process yet again. She knows she's still at the beginning of a life long adventure, but looks forward to every minute of it..
