Big Chef was born Cameron Sheppard in the small Midwestern Rust Belt ghetto of Benton Harbor, MI. Cameron was raised against the same back drop as most "80s Babies" within the black community, poverty, drugs, and criminality are defining elements, of the Ghetto, that produced Chef, but not his musical or lyrical landscape. Big Chef is an diverse and authentic artist as his music defines. Raised in the church choir and reered as a band student, Chef has an understanding and natural gift for melodic, rhyme composition that few possess. The uniqueness of raw talent & musical depth, mixed with the social and cultural influences of Midwestern street life, Chef is Hip Hop's new direction of "flava in yo ear" for a region and musical culture that is HOT and starving for new taste. Recognized as a "voice of the struggle" Big Chef is currently working on a new project as the RAW & GRITTY radio host of the "Big Chef Show" over the airwaves of 105.3 WVBH for the hungry listeners of Benton Harbor, MI. As an added bonus, Chef is an member of the Real Music Coalition, a music frat and lifestyle brand that strives to enhance the promotion of elite Indie Artist in the industry.
As one of the driving forces in the Street Group/Label B.O.S ENT (Brothers Of the Struggle. A team of rappers that consist of Chalo, Will P, Hexx, Detaile & Chef) Chef has performed on the same stages as- Twista, Young Buck, Trina, Blood Raw, Lloyd, Lil Scrappy, Jim Jones, and many others.
