Shanice & Maurice Hayes, a father and daughter vocal duo performs concerts throughout North America. Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Shanice & Maurice Hayes are one of Americas top performing
duos.
Together they perform a diverse vocal repertoire that encompasses many styles from gospel, blues, jazz, country and contemporary, that spans from the early 1900s to the present. Performances are complemented with brief stories about the song and its composer.
The Duo performs world wide for a wide variety of engagements. The duos ability to relate their music to all people, from children to senior adults, is unparalleled.
Both performers are truly spiritual beings, music possessing the qualities of faith and the oneness of mankind supporting the cause of World Unity. The duo was featured on the NBC hit TV series Americas Got Talent, performing for millions around the world. Not only performing in the semi-finals but reaching the top 10 for season 2012. They are also part of the Touring Roster of the Missouri Art Council since the year of 2009.

ABOUT SHANICE:
Shanice is the daughter of Maurice and Maribeth C. Hayes of Kansas City, Missouri. At 19 years of age she is gaining popularity for her vocal style and natu-ral ability to entertain. A graduate from the Paseo Academy of the Fine and Performing Arts in Kansas City Missouri. Shanice is a true original, hoping her music will be a vehicle to helping continue her education in Medi-cine and Music at the University of Missouri.
This gifted youth loves to sing songs with a musical message that lifts the spirit. Her inspiring performances ranges from spirituals, country, to jazz and blues, taking her audience along for the ride.
Shanice champions, among others, the plight of cancer vic-tims and the homeless by using her vocal talents for fund rais-ing. She promotes entertainment to seniors by performing a Senior Concert Series at retirement facilities across the United States.
Shanice performs not only as a soloist but as part of a vocal duo with her father Maurice Hayes. Together Shanice and Maurice is one of Americas top performing Vocal Duos, bringing live music with unique harmo-nies and romantic songs from the golden age of music to the present. As a Vocal Duo the father and daughter team was one of the most successful singing groups on the NBC hit TV series Americas Got Talent. Not only performing in the semi-finals but reaching the top 10 for the season. She is also a part of the Missouri Art Council Touring Roster , from the year 2009. ABOUT MAURICE:
Maurice Hayes, born in Kansas City, Missouri. Hayes is one of six children of Charlie and Katherine Hayes. He is best known for his tenure as a lead Vocalist of the United States Air Force and Navy Bands. Hayes is a Vietnam era Veteran of the United States Navy serving as a Engineman on the USS Hampshire County LST 819, the USS Thomason LSD 28, and the USS Shreveport LPD 12 from September 1968 through August 1977. A father of seven and married to Maribeth B Catalla of the Philippines.
The United States Armed Forces officially recognize and decorated Maurice Hayes with the following Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations and Campaign Ribbons:
Air force Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Navy Good conduct Medal, National De-fense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He is a graduate of the United States Armed Forces School of Music, and has performed as the vocalist with many of Americas major military bands such as the Navy Band of the Atlantic Fleet, the Air Force Strategic Air Command Band, and the Air Force Band of the Pacific, and the US Air Force Heartland Of America Band. He has also performed with performers such as Al Harrington, Frank Sinatra Jr., and Frank Mantooth to name a few.
He performs for many Heads of State around the world. Wherever he travels, Maurice Hayes musi-cally crosses cultural barriers, making new friends and entertaining enthusiastic audiences of all na-tionalities. Whether in recital or as a soloist with orchestras, his praises are enumerated in a many different languages however, they are all in agreement on one point: Maurice Hayes is a major art-ist and one of America's finest.
Mr. Hayes is truly a spiritual being, with his music possessing his qualities of life and his belief in the oneness of mankind and of the world of humanity. A strong believer that Afro American Men should play a positive role in the education and morale character of the worlds children.
At the age of 62 Maurice now performs as part of a vocal duo with his lovely 19 year old talented daughter, Shanice Hayes. Together they are one of Americas top performing Vocal Duos, bringing live music with unique harmonies and romantic songs from the golden age of music to the present.
