Green Century Part 1: A Means to an End

About

Every choice we make shapes the fate of humankind. Green Century is a thought-provoking, four-part documentary that ponders the fate of our civilization from an ecological perspective. The show looks at our accomplishments as a species and the long-term viability of our civilization, including the potential for colonization of neighboring planets and star systems. Green Century also considers the challenges that may prevent us from fulfilling our potential as a race including the Earths inability to meet the basic needs of a human population that will grow to nearly 9 billion by mid-century.

Viewers are guided through this science fantasy-style mini-series by narrator Robert Tristan while subject-matter experts comment on human motivation, energy technology, and sustainability measures that may enable us to live on the Moon, Mars, and other planets. Individual segments in Green Century Part I: A Means to an End deal with Maslows Hierarchy of Human Needs, energy storage, marine hydrokinetic energy technology, electric cars, and building energy management.

Conceived in early 2012 by Executive Producer Robert T. Mejia and Co-Creator Eric Q. Mejia, Green Century was produced by Long Beach-based EtherWorks, LLC in the fall of 2012 and winter of 2013.
