Download PDFFifteen-year old songstress, Sydney Murray of Fredericksburg, VA loves all genres of music, but favors singing the genre Indie: acoustic/pop/soul. Her most recent experience includes performing in school talent shows and participating in the school choir. She took 1st place in her high schools 2013 Chancellor Idol contest. She is frequently requested to sing the National Anthem for military retirement ceremonies and school sporting events, as well as special events at the Quantico Marine Corps Base Exchange. In July 2013, she experienced auditioning for The Voice in New York City! Sydney has performed at fashion and hair shows in Fredericksburg, and in 2012, she sang The Negro National Anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing for the Mary Washington University Black History Month Program. She played the lead part of Dorothy in Aris House of Dance and Performing Arts Studio production, Welcome to the Wiz. Her voice speaks pride and poise. It is evident that her voice will touch many more hearts for years to come.
After high school, Sydney aspires to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA to study in courses such as songwriting, music business, and electronic production and design to name a few.
