Andy Snitzer has performed and recorded with a who's who of popular music artists. From Clapton to Beck, Aretha Franklin to Jay Z and Tony Bennett to Lady Gaga, Andy's passionate sound and melodic style have earned him a place in the elite ranks of contemporary saxophonists.

Born in Philadelphia, Andy excelled in music and mathematics as a child. Andy studied clarinet and dabbled in guitar and piano on his way to embracing the saxophone at age 15. Simultaneously immersing himself in John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, among many others, high school was marked by constant practice and study.

In college and realizing that the requirements for jazz and classical music were vastly divergent, Andy left Northwestern, choosing to continue his studies at the University of Miami. When Bob James visited and took Andy and fellow student Ed Calle on tour, it marked the beginning of Andy's professional career and a relationship with James which has endured nearly 20 years.

Andys solo recording career dates back to 1994. His breakout release Ties that Bind yielded the #1 single and Smooth Jazz classic, You've Changed which is regularly heard on stations including Sirius/XM Watercolors. More hits followed with In the Eye of the Storm, including A River's Road and My Dream Come True. Snitzers highly regarded 2011 release Traveler forged new stylistic ground. In heavy rotation on Sirius/XM for more than 18 months (with the singles Marselle and Taking Off), Traveler signaled Andys return to the Smooth Jazz foreground.

2013s The Rhythm provided more radio gold including Candy and Velvet and spent more than a year on the Smooth Jazz charts. The project features Andys powerful yet gentle horn on 11 melodic tracks including guest appearances by Chuck Loeb and Till Brnner.

Widely regarded for his saxophone mastery and passionate performing style, Andy's latest release, American Beauty, was in heavy rotation on Smooth Jazz radio nationwide and as he has done with Paul Simon, Sting, Billy Joel and The Rolling Stones, Andy continues to light up stages as a featured artist in 2019.
