Picture this. A very talented young man of seventeen embarks on a music career with stars in his eyes, garners interest at a major record label, comes very close to realizing his dream of music, then detours into a world of drugs, violence, homelessness and a very long road to nowhere when that dream falls apart. Sounds like a made for TV movie of the week, doesnt it? TJ Broscoff may have walked away from music for a decade, but his story does not end tragically under a bush in the desert, a place he called home, but in fact, has only just begun.

Born and raised in Irving, Texas, TJ Broscoff was a rare talent at a very early age fronting the rock band The Unknown, the band that seems well on its way to stardom opening for acts like Bush, The Nixons and Tripping Daisy to name a few. Not knowing what to do when the bottom fell out, TJ turned to drugs and alcohol for support, but only ended up being the supporter to a monster that intended to see him to his last breath. For years TJ led a life fraught with desperation and self destruction. To support his outrageous habit he stole, lied, cheated, and robbed from family and strangers alike. He walked on gang ridden streets for years, sold his shoes during a snow storm for one hit of crack, traded his Ford F-150 truck to a dope dealer for a three hour high, and roamed with a wounded stagger while constantly looking over his shoulder for the danger he knew was stocking him. Completely exhausted of all patience, TJs parents bought him a one-way ticket to Phoenix with a few words of farewell, Dont come back. We dont want to know you anymore. New Solutions, a half way house in Phoenix took TJ in and attempted to show him how to live as a human being. For a year and a half he continued his on again, off-again romance with drugs and alcohol and eventually left the facility and took residence under a bush in the desert thus garnering him the nickname Bushman. The turn around point came while sitting on a grassy knoll at a public park on the 4th of July. He was out of drugs, out of money and out of options. I had nobody to call. I had burned every bridge I had. I was dead to anyone who ever loved me. Slowly people by the hundreds started filtering in to watch the fireworks display and when TJ saw the laughing families, playing children and kissing lovers, the flood gates opened and there he sat for 5 hours drowning in his own private river of despair. Something clicked and I started bawling. The fire works started and the light just turned onand I got it. He went back to New Solutions for his final battle with the monster and was shocked to find that his family had gotten his guitar out of hock and sent it to him. When he picked up that guitar for the first time in ten years, the songs started pouring out of him. It was like I was on pause then I was on play. Like I had stored up my soul and as soon my head got clear I was throwing up my emotions. He returned sixty days later to his hometown to start his new life.

Back at home he started the humble process of making amends, trying to right himself to the people he had wronged. A friend who was conscious of TJs music talent began dragging him around to perform at coffee houses and before long he was in the studio recording his first album DETOUR PHOENIX, produced by Jay Gillian who has worked with bands like Depeche Mode and Information Society. The album sparked moderate interest landing TJ and his newly formed band on the road to music venues.

TJ Broscoffs newest album READY TO FLY brings us full circle to a young man whose hard knocks and deeply set scars reveal a songwriting talent that is both painfully authentic and emotionally robust. Produced by Bill Green, READY TO FLY is an exposed diary that signifies a remarkable journey that most of us cannot imagine. The album has generated much deserved acclaim garnering him a spot on the Texas Music Charts Top 30 with his first single Hold and on the Texas Regional Radio Charts Top 30 with his second single Jamies Heart. and his third single "Pillow" earning a top 30 on both the Texas Music Charts and Texas Regional Radio Charts. Renowned journalist and music historian Robert Oermann commented in Music Row Magazine, I dig the rasp in his throat, the melodic song and the twinkling, breezy production. Very promising. Send more." While gearing up for the release of a new single,"Wrong Side of The Tracks," TJ recently appeared at the Texas Regional Radio music Awards where he presented the award for Video of the Year. He was also nominated for Best New Male Vocalist of the Year. TJ also is a featured artist on the new TV series Troubadour TX, on the CW and NBC Stations nation wide. The series follows 24 artists across the country showing what life is like on the road. Troubadour TX is shown in 6 million homes each week.

TJ and the band continue to receive rave reviews for their live performances all over the country. Mixing original songs with some of the most loved classic rock and americana tunes of all time. Progressive beats and full tilt acoustic guitar chops makes TJ one of the most popular bands to see live. With venue owners phoning in offers for repeat performances and peers deeming him The Dave Matthews of Texas country, TJ Broscoff is a gale force wind to be reckoned with.
