CHARLES CALELLO

Acclaim

I recorded quite recently with a guy that produced my big hit After the Lovin  (1976). He did so many others. His name is Charlie Calello. We call him Platinum Charlie.

Las Vega Sun Interview, June 10, 2009

As a member of The Four Seasons, Calello was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999. He conducted a medley of Four Seasons hits that included Walk Like a Man, Dawn Go Away, Workin My Way Back To You and Lets Hang On for the audience in Boca Raton. The orchestra performed the number for the first time, without rehearsals, but with pure emotion. Their speed and precision was unprecedented. Only a true master conductor could possibly have gotten even the great Florida Sunshine Pops to play with such unbridled exuberance.

Memories Are Made Of This is very specialthe arrangements by Charles Calello are first rate and Ms. Martin sounds just as warm as she did on the pages of her book.

Watertown is Frank Sinatras most ambitious concept album, as well as his most difficult record. Not only does it tell a full-fledged story, it is his most explicit attempt at rock-oriented popProducer Charles Calello arranged musical backdrops that conveyed the despair of the lyrics. Weaving together prominent electric guitars, keyboards, drum kits, and light strings, Calello uses pop/rock instrumentations and production techniques, but that doesnt prevent Sinatra from warming to the material. In fact, he turns in a wonderful performance, drawing out every emotion from the lyrics, giving the albums character depth.
