Download PDFThe Axe Women Loggers of Maine production is a self-contained turn-key event unlike any other lumberjack or lumberjill shows across the country. From the apparel of the Axe Women to the sets of the production, no detail has been spared in updating the logger show for the 21st century. The show is the centerpiece of the touring division of the newly created Pro Timber Sports Company based in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Alissa Harper, World Champion Axe Thrower with over 10 years experience working for the only other female lumberjill show in the country performed and managed the cast of the stationary show in Maine as well as the touring show in the owners absence. Alissa is the founder and president of the new company which also has a sporting competition side of the business giving her Axe Women a platform to compete.
The companys equipment sponsors are Northeast STIHL of Shelton, Connecticut which supplies the teams hot saws, (power saws) and LOGRITE of Vernon, Connecticut which provides the state-of-the-art logging sports equipment. Both sponsors are necessary to produce the touring exhibition as well as compete in various sporting championships around the world.
From arrival and set up to strike and load out the Axe Women team handles every single detail from behind the scenes to their world class performances, displaying the highest caliber, by some of the most recent World Champions in Axe Throw, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop.
So what makes Axe Women Loggers of Maine different from all the rest of the touring logging shows out there? First, you should know that every lumberjack performance since the inception of these type shows have spun off from one single show. There has literally been no change from the very first script, including the same old corny jokes and music. The new Axe Women show has a totally new script which not only entertains but informs the viewers of the history of logging all while wrapping the performance in contemporary country rock music.
Second, Axe Women features more current World Champion performers than any other show including various event championships from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012. Foremost, the Axe Women show is being produced by an experienced live show producer whose events have been performed around the globe. The one thing you will notice most of all is the show will be themed with real aesthetic sets so instead of looking over the log rolling tank and seeing whatever is in the background, whether it be a Ferris wheel, a corn dog stand or a row of port-a-potties, the set will be dressed with a hard backdrop which is provided by the only closed in 26 foot box trailer touring the lumberjack circuit.
