Comedian Mic Larry (born Larry Williams) began doing improv, sketch, impressions, written, and stand-up comedy in 2006. He strives to give the best medicine to heal the human race: LAUGHTER. He has opened up for Paul Mooney (as seen on BET's Comic View), Mike Bonner, Katt Williams, Tony Roberts, Bad Boy of Comedy Howie Bell, Best Supporting Actor Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps, just to name a few. His comedic endeavors have landed him engagements in Hockey Town Theater, The Comedy Castle, Ann Arbor Showcase, The Music Hall, The Millennium Center, TV Lounge, Bakers Keyboard Lounge, Bert's Warehouse, Mandees Bar & Grill and Joeys Comedy Club, here in the Metro Detroit area. Larry has also performed nationally at various venues, including the Gotham Comedy Club, the Narcotics Convention in New York, the VP Town Comedy Corner in Atlanta, GA and Jokes & Notes in Chicago, IL. In 2009, Mic Larry was a double for Cedric the Entertainer in the movie Alls Fair in Love and he received another role opportunity in "Paper. Ever since he opened up a new way to give laughter back, local plays in Detroit, such as There Goes The Neighborhood and Man Up have asked him take on a part due to his ability to add great humor to their productions. Mic Larry has a genuine heart and gives back to his fans by participating in several charitable events. Annually, he produces a show in the community called Laughter and Food for the Soul, a comedy show which provides food and shelter for the homeless here in Detroit. Comedian Mic Larry founded the 100% Real Fathers Organization (which gives back to young men) and the 100% Real Mothers Organization (which helps single mothers). Though he is a comedian, he says folks suffering is no laughing matter. For a six consecutive weeks, Mic took first place on the New Comedy Spotlight hosted by Detroits own radio personality and comedian, Foolish (of Radio One). Mic Larry was a contestant in Billy Thompsons, Metro Gospel Funny Comedian and was the winner for 2 years in and row. He has been featured on Detroit's radio station 105.9FM, doing impressions of his favorite celebrities, such as rapper Notorious BIG and Detroit's own Honorable Judge Mathis.
Mic Larry has been the host of the LMAO! Comedy Showcase on Tuesday nights every year at TV Lounge in Detroit, MI. LMAO! features new and tenured comedians. He is also the host at Mandees on Monday nights, which has the longest running comedy show in Detroit currently. Mic Larry is a talented comedian, an awesome single father with custody of his two children, a great humanitarian, and has also been the host for 5 years of Bless The Mic (a clean comedy show). Mic considers himself a family comedian, with life stories that mainly consist of his kids, whom he has been parenting alone for the last 5 years. Mic Larry says that the biggest highlight of his career was his one man show, which was supported by 600 fans. It was here that his live DVD, "I Left My Kids In The Car", was filmed.
