Led by Prince Diabate on kora, kamelen n'goni & vocals; accompanied by Linda Albertano on bolon, kora and gongoman and with guest artist, Paul Livingstone, on sitar. This intimate event will directly benefit The Prince Diabate Music Academy, the first international, privately-funded music school in Guinea, West Africa. This residential academy, presently under construction in the countryside, will specialize in teaching the art of the kora and other stringed instruments plus traditional flute from Guinea and Mali. Aimed primarily at international students, provision will also be made to include local school children and is open to students of all levels. Prince Diabate will be present to discuss his plans for the school and to answer questions after the concert. We hope to see you again soon. |
