*RECIPIENT OF THE 2016 DST ARTIE (DANCE) AWARD - The "ARTIE" Awards ceremony is part of Delta Sigma Theta (Sorority) New Orleans Alumnae Chapter's Spring Cultural extravaganza. The "ARTIE" is presented in six genres including Drama/Theatre, Literature Dance, Visual Arts, Music and Patron of the Arts to talented individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to the arts. Millisia White's Baby Doll Ladies is the 2016 recipient of the prestigious "ARTIE" in the discipline of Dance.

*KEEPERS OF NOLA's DOLL MASKING TRADITIONS ca.1912 - The Baby Doll Ladies are chosen keepers of heirloom artifacts from descendants of the citys first beloved music and dancing family of Babydolls (c.1930), known as Original Baby Doll Aunt Miriam Batiste-Reed and her late brother, Musician Uncle Lionel Batiste. Precious artifacts and untold stories have been passed down to the Baby Doll Ladies In support of uniting & carrying on the essential components and values of the doll masking culture from the Batiste family along with contributions from The Late Ernie K-Doe Babydolls' (c.2003) co-founding members, Tee-Eva & Geannie Thomas.

*CULTURAL PRESERVATIONISTS The New Orleans Society Of Dance co-sponsored The Presbytere State Museums Babydolls exhibit, showcasing 100 years of Doll Masking in New Orleans, co-curated by N.O.S.D. artistic director & community scholar, Millisia White. The exhibit was featured January 2013-2014.

*YOUTH OUTREACH ACTIVISTS The Baby Doll Ladies incorporate a school & youth teaching mission as part of community outreach efforts. The k-12 program is designed to motivate students with use of performing arts and literacy components helping to raise students self esteem and awareness of the NOSD doll-masking traditions.
